Our Origin + Philosophy

We are wellness enthusiasts, committed to helping you simplify your self-care practices, while also minimizing our eco-footprint and creating a positive social impact.

HELLO!

I’m so excited to share these products with you, and I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I do!

Getting here was an unexpected journey that started when I was pregnant with my first little one in 2013, and couldn't find skincare products I felt safe using.

I wanted products that met the same standards I have for food: natural, organic, GMO free and preservative free.  Beyond that, I wanted SIMPLE formulations – ingredients I recognized in a list short enough to research on my own.

When I couldn't find products that met my needs, I started kitchen-crafting my own. I quickly learned that any product with water has to also include a synthetic preservative (questionable at best) as well as emulsifiers (damaging to your natural skin barrier defense), along with a host of other ingredients to counteract those.  So, water was out.

Going water-free helped me address another major issue I had with the skincare industry: plastic waste.  I already planned to use glass and paper packaging, and concentrated (water-free) formulas offer the added benefit of more uses per package!  To further minimize our eco-footprint, we also purchase carbon-offsets for our shipments and plant a tree for every product sold 🌱

Starting this business also gave me a platform to raise awareness and funds for the global water crisis.  This crisis disproportionately impacts women and girls.  Clean water access empowers them to create a brighter future for themselves, their families and their communities.  We donate 5% of profits to non-profits dedicated to making this essential human right a reality.

As you read this, we're actively working to expand the product line, improve our sustainability practices and amplify our efforts to empower women around the world.

I welcome your feedback, contributions and questions!

It takes a village.
